Bardstown Elementary School has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana to create a free, fun and educational mentoring opportunity for 3rd-5th grade students. For our site based program, a “Big” is a trained high school student mentor who will be a positive role model for one of our students (“Little”), and visits with their Little once a week at our school for an hour. The Big plays games, helps with schoolwork, and talks with their Little about their day. Because of the caring relationship that’s built, we repeatedly see school performance boosted and self-confidence raised, putting the child on a path to greater success.
